Important Information About Wednesday's Meet
Hello, and happy Memorial day weekend!
I just wanted to remind everyone that we will not be having practice on Monday, since it is Memorial Day. However, when we get back on Tuesday, it will be go go go because of our meet on Wednesday! Please have RSVPS done by Monday at noon, I would hate to have someone miss out on our first meet! If you can only make some of the meet, please let me know in the comments of the RSVP.
The meet starts at 6pm, and our warmups are at 5:30, so for this first meet please plan on arriving at 5:00pm to get your swimmer checked in and with their events. Check in may not start until 5:15, so please have your kids wait patiently until the volunteer is ready, but I would love to have y'all arrive at 5:00 since this is our first meet. Park in the neighborhood on one side of the street, being mindful of the people that live there! From the Arden Lakes Coordinator, "make sure there is at least one car length between stop signs, and do not park in front of fire hydrants"
For new parents of swim team, or anyone that needs a reminder: Your swimmer should check in with a volunteer, who will give them a sheet of paper that has their events. We have the swimmers write their events on their arms in sharpie (I will attach an explanation of the layout.) Please remember to bring towels, swim caps (optional but recommended), goggles, money for concessions, foldable chairs, and I recommend bringing card games or coloring books for your little ones to do while waiting for their event. As coaches, we tell the kids to NOT play on playgrounds when they are at the meet, because it is a risk for them to get hurt, and miss out on their other events.
That is all for now, please text me (my number is 770-861-0118) with any concerns! I will be more available over text than email. Hope everyone has a fun and relaxing 3-day weekend! Go Dolphins!
