Hello Dorset Dolphin Families,

We wanted to thank everyone who participated and/or donated to the 2024 Dolphin Dash. It was another successful event and we loved seeing all the new and familiar faces! This event has really become one of the cornerstones of our summer swim team and we loved seeing it continue to thrive. This year, we had 45 swimmers ranging from 4-17 who swam around 57 miles all together. For those of you who are local, that's like driving to Six Flags and back from our pool and then running a 5K! So proud of all of our swimmers!

Special thank you to our coaches, volunteers and the awesome DJ-Max from DJ Neezy Entertainment. I think we had a record number of volunteers and we're truly grateful for each and every one of you!

What is the Dolphin Dash?

Dolphin Dash was founded by the Beck family seven years ago in order to spread awareness and engage our community in Hydrocephalus research.

Our 13-year-old daughter Lilly developed Hydrocephalus as a result of premature birth. To date, she has had 10 brain surgeries. We began fundraising for the Hydrocephalus Association the year after Lilly was born by participating in the Hydrocephalus Association annual walks, but we wanted to have an event we could share with our support community. The Dolphin Dash was inspired by and is held in partnership w/Team Hydro who swim from Alcatraz to San Francisco and in Boston Harbor to raise funds for Hydrocephalus research. Through this partnership we are able to direct 100% of funds raised to research! During the past seven years we have raised ~ $58k+for research and this year, we are hoping to add to that number.

Dolphin Dash is open to all our swimmers and swim friends to swim as many laps as they can for as long as they can to raise money for Hydrocephalus research. Registration is free, but all donations are welcome and encouraged. They can be made here, or we will also accept cash/check during the day of the event. Please make checks payable to Team Hydro. We also accept Venmo @Anna-Beck-3. All donations are tax-deductible, and we will be happy to provide a tax receipt for any off-line donations of $50 or more.
